An Unusual New York Parking Ticket. A man who had died inside his vehicle in New York was slapped with a parking ticket.
Nicholas Rappold, 21, who is understood to have died from an overdose, was in the driver's seat of his vehicle in New York.
A traffic warden saw his Jeep Cherokee illegally parked in hours set aside for road cleaning.
The attendant wrote up a ticket, placed it on the car and carried on. Mr Rappold was found an hour afterward by a friend.
His cousin Patrick Hill told the New York Daily News: "It's really messed up". He added that the the parking warden could have at least tapped on the window to see that he was all right.
An investigation was carried out and police stated that the traffic warden had not done anything wrong as the car had tinted windows and it was hard to see in.
Police said they had rescinded the parking ticket.
